I want to post...

...but I can't talk about any of the stuff I want to write about!

Thank you all for such nice comments about my last post... it really was nothing big... but I did get a kick out of seeing it, on TiVo, the next day. LOL.

To answer some of your questions, the thing I produced is called a "Bump" or a "Tease." It really is just 5 seconds (4 if the anchor reads really fast) and yes, it really airs at 4am. You would be surprised how much effort is involved in getting 5 seconds of TV on the air though. Maybe you wouldn't, but I was, and I work in TV!

There have been some interesting side effects from my adventures in tease production. During a meeting in which my tease was discussed (which I was not present for) a request was made by someone for a second, longer tease which would be produced daily and contain topical information about the show coming up. Apparently everyone liked that idea so NOW my tease which was only going to be shot once and used over and over and over is being shot daily in conjunction with the longer topical tease. that means the tease I wrote and produced only aired once. The tease that runs now is merely inspired by my tease. Still my concept, but no longer all mine.

Another side effect has been all the new contacts I have had to make in order to bring those 5 seconds to fruition... I think I met more people in the process of getting that on air than I did in 8 years in my previous position.

I feel like a dork trying to be all secretive about all this... it's not like I work for the CIA or anything... (although it DOES START with C), but there are rules. I'm considering asking my boss if I might be allowed to write about my experiences with more detail... but I don't know if I want my boss knowing about my blog. Heck my, BF doesn't even know yet!

I produced!

My first ever nationally televised production aired today.

I've been TECHNICALLY "producing" now for about two months... but that part of my job is just taking someone else's production and cutting it up to fit my needs.

Today however something that I conceived, pitched to execs, wrote and oversaw a control room for was seen nationwide (potentially in Japan and parts of Latin America too). Words I wrote were put on the teleprompter and spoken out loud by an anchorperson. A fonter had to put up the banner I wrote, an audio guy tracked the anchor's mic and the music, the floor director had to position a monitor behind the anchor... it was the real deal. We shot it last week, and it made it's debut today.

...all 5 seconds of it... at 4am eastern!

August 12 of 12

FINALLY a day away from the office for 12 of 12! My Sunday was even spent away from This New Condo. "P" and I spent the weekend at his place.

On Sunday morning he got up early for church... I ALMOST went, but there was a long meeting he was going to attend following the service so I opted to sleep in a little and then took a walk.

One of the first things to catch my eye:

I've opted to blur the number, but if you HAVE seen this dog let me know, I can get you in touch.

P lives on a fairly busy street, and as such there is a little litter that one comes across on any walkabout in his neighborhood. Lucky for me 11 people threw away their empty Coke (or Coke products... Vault in this case) bottles along my path:

...so I picked em up and earned 33 points! I'm up to 4959 now! One man's trash... yadda yadda...

My walk's destination was a coffee shop in a local strip mall. I like this particular coffee shop because it is in very close proximity to a Fitness Center known for it's high level of attractive patrons who all have to walk PAST this coffee shop on their way to their workout:

I parked here for coffee and the Sunday AJC for about an hour.

This house is for sale:

It's along the route between P's place and the coffee shop. It was an eyesore for a while, but now it looks like something out of Flip That House! P and I both like it.

Once P got home from Church we went for lunch at a place called Cowtippers. This is a mural on the side of the building. Cow's getting plowed:

After that we headed over to Atlantic Station to meet some friends...

for a movie:

We saw this:

It was AWESOME!

Just a shot of a little Atlanta skyline cluster across the freeway from Atlantic Station. The only thing that makes this shot unique is that there are no construction cranes in it:

You can't swing a dead cat without hitting a construction crane in the ATL these days. Actually now that I look again you CAN see cranes in this shot... but you have to look close!

On the way home we had to stop at the grocery store to pick up some stuff and while walking through the health food area I saw these things:

... I don't get it. I mean I get the fact that this granola is JUST granola, naked, with no fillers or preservatives... but why BEAR Naked? Shouldn't it be BARE Naked? What do grizzlies have to do with Granola.

Finally a rare shot of "P" as we get back to his home sweet home:

Are you a team player?

Howdy folks... I'm lookin' for a few good men/people/humans. If you are a football fan, that's even better. Blue Diamond Almonds has a contest going on that requires players to be on a "Team" to enter... It looks confusing as all hell on their site, but basically... you and I will pick the winners of various football games... the more we get right, the better we do. In the end, we'll all be entered to win a trip to a "Breezes SUPERCLUB" in Jamaica. I know... not the swankiest vacation ever, but this time it's less about winning and more about just playin' the game.

So here's the deal... if you would like to be on my team "Team CB" just send me an email and let me know... I'll send you an email back with a special link and we're on our way! Picking doesn't start till September so we have some time. Blue Diamond says they will send us emails reminding us when it's time to pick again too.

I'll keep the world posted on our results and our progress right here!

Be forewarned... I pick winners of football games like Dwayne on "What's Happening." It's a highly tuned system that is based solely on how much I like a team's helmet... or the hotness of a team's quarterback... whichever catches my eye first.

Still time to Win

If you haven't played yet... AMD is giving away a ton of stuff! But you can't win if you don't ENTER!!!

Past Blasting

First off... let me say that I MISS BLOGGING! I'm not sure exactly why my posts have dropped off so dramatically. I'm busy but not THAT busy... I think it was just time for a bit of a slowdown...

Having said that... I have so much to add to this journal:

Last weekend P and I took a group of friends to see The Solid Gold Dance Party at Atlanta's Chastain Park Amphitheater. SO MUCH FUN! The shots above are of the crowd (and some of MY group) up on our feet while Village People sang YMCA on stage. The Solid Gold Dancers, Thelma Houston, Peaches and Herb, the Village People... total blast from the past. It was made all the better because I had WON the tickets which included a table in the amphitheater. So we made dinner and desert and brought wine and candles... totally fun. Great time.

Other stuff I need to blog about:

P and I have booked a trip to China next year.

My new job is challenging and I'm loving it. It's the perfect job for someone like me, transferring from operations to editorial. Having a lot of fun with it.

Sold the Wii!

Sold the Camcorder!

Won an official LeBron James Cleveland Cavaliers jersey.

Lots of Condo stuff too... the politics in the building are really kicking in and things are starting to get interesting!

I also REALLY need to catch up on Y'all and your posts... I miss getting the latest on every one's day to day's.
